House Pictures

The pictures are here! These are old and the house is obviously not finished in these. I sadly don't have the before pictures to show today. The house was BAD. The only floor we didn't replace was the kitchen floor. DJ did all the tile work, and Pete, Joni and DJ did a lot of the painting. My family came down and helped too. We really appreciate all the work our families did for us!

Well it's been about a year since my last update so it's about time I get on here. DJ still works at Jones Elementary and I no longer work at Hobby Lobby, I now work at Harp Elementary with kindergarten. I love it. OH! We also bought our first house in June of 2012. It was in need of a lot of TLC but it was worth it. I love having our own house and not renting with noisy neighbors on all sides of us.

So there's my update for now :)

Good afternoon! Surprised I'm updating, Anna? Haha! I wish I had pictures to put up, but I'm lame and lazy and haven't taken any...So I will just have to use words to tell you, my reader, what the Sherwood's have been up to. DJ is loving his job at Jones Elementary School as a P.E. coach and I am still working at Hobby Lobby, BUT...I also am now able to sub in the Springdale School District. Dah dah-dah daaahhh!!!!! Yay for me. Right now I am helping at Harp, where my brother-in-law works. I work with the kindergarten classes. Love it!

Last week with Easter, DJ's brothers came into town. Dusty, Claire and Stella, from P.A., and Josh from N.J. It was nice to be able to visit with them and get to know everyone a little better. Also our new little nephew from Jake and Shell was blessed on saturday. Some other family from M.O. come down here for that too :) BIG family! My sister Bethany and her children came down from I.N. earlier in the week and we were able to get up to Branson to see them. Her kids are growing so fast! Poor Gwen wasn't feeling the best though :( I loved seeing everyone and I'm glad they all made it home safely.

Hummm.....anything else I'm forgetting...? Oh yes, how could I forget? I got a promotion (so to speak) at work. CSM night manager. Not to excited about working nights, but it should only be about 3 nights a week and right now I'm already working 3-5 nights a week. More hours and better pay will help us a lot. Can you say "BLESSINGS"!!!!!??? The last time I really worked one job full time was before I get married so we'll see if I can survive or not....

Ok well that wasn't so bad. Maybe I'll update my blog more often....maybe. I'll try to talk DJ into getting a better camera so I'll be motivated to use it and then I'll shower ya'll with pictures of our uneventful life :)

Quick Update

I never thought I would say this, but...I love Arkansas! It is November 1st and BEAUTIFUL outside. It's about 70 degrees. Jealous Northerners? I would be. Haha! ;) I just found out that the two classes I took over the summer will transfer to my new school and I don't have to take them again! DJ and I are watching the Harry Potter series, going to a game in Kansas City next week and SUPER excited for Cancun next month!!!!!! I had a job interview at Hobby Lobby but with us being gone Christmas to New Years I'm not sure if I'll get it :( It's a seasonal job so even if I did get it I might be out of work come January. DJ is almost done with his first class and is started on his second. He is scheduled to be done with his Masters come Dec. of next year. He love his job down here too. Moving from Monett, MO was a very good thing for us. It is a much better environment down here AND a few degrees warmer :) DJ also just got called as the Wolf Den Leader for Cub Scouts. His assistant doesn't know very much English so DJ will get a lot of practice with his Spanish. I'm hoping to get practice too. We've also started reading scriptures in Spanish most nights (when DJ isn't too tired to translate). Well I think that pretty much updates ya'll on us.

Yesterday some teenage girl told me I had a Justin Bieber haircut...today I went and got it cut. Haha! It's a good thing there was a counter between us because I might have lost my job for strangling a customer. Her friend was buying cigars and I asked for both their ID's and only the one girl had hers. She was 18. I told them they looked really young and next time don't come in without ID's. As she was leaving she said, "By the way my friend likes your Justin Bieber haircut". I don't know why I let that get to me, but I am so glad I'm not in high school.
Anyway, This weekend DJ and I are going up to good ol' Missouri so visit family. I have a few sewing projects I need help with (apparently I didn't pay much attention when mom was trying to teach me...), my mom is going to help me learn how to can food (I'll listen better this time :)! Never thought I would be excited about sewing and canning...the things marriage will do to a woman. Also, my "little" sisters just turned 15 and are DRIVING! I remember being 15 and learning how to drive. The girls would always make fun of my driving and hate it when I drove, now it's my turn!

1st Anniversary

 On Aug. 7th 2011 DJ and I had our 1st anniversary! Saturday the 6th was a busy day. We celebrated our nephew's birthday, my in-laws come for a visit, and we all went out to eat at the Mongolian Grill. The Grill was awesome. You first go through a buffet and get your raw food (meats, noodles, and veggies)

 Then you stand in line to get yours cooked on a round grill but several chefs. Really fun to watch!

We have made it through our first-of-many years and I love him more than ever! It has been hard but with him by my side it has been that much easier. I look forward to many more years to come!

Sappy Ramblings of a Love Struck Wife

I love my husband! He is so wonderful. I was looking through pictures just now trying to find a new one to put up and listening to Pandora Radio, when "I will always love you" by Whitney Houston come on. When I was little I would always try to imagine what it would be like to be in love and have my very own Knight in Shining Armor to protect me and my Prince Charming to love me and make me laugh as we danced through life together. Now I am living my very own fairytale! Haha! I know this sounds really sappy...I just really love and appreciate my Princely Knight :) "I can love you like that" by All-4-One just come on, weird.

Anyway, I just got on to do a quick update but I've run out of time, I've got to get to work.
