Firsties

Well, hello all! I never thought I would make a blog, but with enough people saying I should make one and most of my family having their own blogs, I figured "why not?".
I will start my first blog with a little introduction.

DJ and I met at a church dance in Springfield, MO. I was hooked from the first dance. He was hooked from the first glance ;) We dated for only one month before DJ was ready to ask me to marry him, but I had to tell him to slow down (wouldn't you?). His slowing down was waiting just ONE more month (total dating time: 2 months). When he asked, I was in shock, but after teasing him for a few minutes, I said YES. The next few weeks were filled with work, school and wedding planning. Finally, the big day came (total engagement time: 6 weeks) with lots of family, friends and happy wishes :) So after a crazy 3 months of KNOWING each other, we were married on Aug. 7th 2010 (almost 8 months ago!!!) .

Right now we are both working. DJ works at a school with the Special Ed and I work at a gas station. DJ is looking for a full time teaching job and is trying to decided what to get his Masters in. I'm going for a degree in Early Childhood Development and hoping for a better job. Even with our not-so-desired-but-grateful-to-have jobs we are loving life together! It's so nice to not have to go home at night. We are not a very "exciting" couple. We enjoy getting Rod Box movies and sometimes play video games or Scrabble. We both teach primary. DJ teaches 11 yr. old boys and I teach 4 yr. old boys and girls. The first sunday of teaching DJ announced that we will not be having kids! And if we did, that we would ship them off to our parents from ages 9-15. Hahaha! It was funny.

Well, laundry is calling my name...
